Spring Walk – May 2025

Originally billed as a bluebell walk, Mother Nature did us a bit of a bamboozle… the usual carpet of blue was already past its best, as they flowered much earlier than usual this year!

No matter…. starting from The Red Lion, we were still able to take a stroll around the countryside of Penn, rambling through the local fields and and into Common Wood. Our Woodlands Manager, Mike Morley, lead the way stopping at points of interest to shared with us his knowledge and passion for the area.

A good time was had by all – both two and four legged.

All are welcome along – look out for details of the next walk via Facebook and Instagram  or within Village Voice

P&TGRS owns and manages Common Wood along with Millar Wood and the Coppice Farm Road Greens for the benefit of the local community.

Through our Friends of Common Wood  memberships, valued volunteer working party participation, donations and partnerships with stakeholders, we continue to manage the woodlands for the benefit of the local community.Together we can protect and enhance this precious woodland haven, keeping it safe for threatened wildlife, to tackle the effects of climate change and to be enjoyed for generations to come.
