Local History

Penn and Tylers Green have a long and interesting history. We are fortunate in having a number of villagers interested in this history, of which the most knowledgeable is Miles Green who wrote most of the history books we have for sale.

If you just want a quick overview, head to  the “Potted History“.  The other articles go into particular aspects in more detail and many of them have appeared in either the village magazine “Village Voice” or the local church newsletter.

For information on our local churches, Peter Strutt has composed a comprehensive resource where he has indexed every history article in the church newsletter since 1991. We suggest that you visit https://pennchurch.uk  to read about Holy Trinity, Penn and  St Margarets in Tylers Green.
