Quiz night raises £2,000

Close to 100 quizzers attended Tylers Green Village Hall for the latest (ever popular) P&TGRS event with proceeds in aid of Friends of Common Wood

Spectacular sharing platters, lovingly prepared on site by our catering volunteers, were served to the quizzers to encourage team bonding and ensure that everyone had enough brain food.

As well as supporting Friends of Common Wood, many of our quizzers brought donations for One Can Trust and one couple bought apples from their garden to give away.

Nicola Hooper, Chair of the Woodlands Committee, explained the background to P&TGRS owning Common Wood and that we are raising to support the conservation and maintenance of the woods in perpetuity.

Mike Morley and Ruthie Pocock were our quiz master and mistress and ably led the quizzer through a variety of rounds and ensured that every team played their jokers to maximise their chances of winning.

The bar was kept busy all evening and everyone supported the raffle and joined in the game of Head or Tails (which was won by our own director, Sharon).

Congratulations to team ‘Picpoul de Pinet’ who were victorious, but the real winner will be Friends of Common Wood, who will benefit from £2,000 raised on the night.

Thank you to everyone for supporting this event; our raffle prize sponsors and supporters, the volunteers who organised and staffed the evening and (perhaps most importantly) the quizzers who attended.
