A ‘sign’ of gratitude for a lifetime of service to Penn & Tylers Green
On Saturday 25 October 2025, we were delighted to welcome members of Peter Sachs family together with members of Village Care to unveil the new signage in his memory.
As part of our long-term plan to conserve and enhance our beautiful ancient woodlands, P&TGRS in collaboration with Village Care, were delighted to unveil the upgraded signage including a new map, at the main entrance of Common Wood.
Working closely in collaboration with Village Care and generously co-funded by P&TGRS, Village Care and the family of Peter Sachs, the sign commemorates the former Village Care chairman, from 1997 to 2022. Village Care still today supplies vital transport and mobility services in the Penn & Tylers Green local community (for further information visit www.pennandtylersgreenvillagecare.org)
The new information board contains the latest map of Common Wood, highlighting key permissive pathways, public rights of way and notable points of interest along with a noticeboard, which will provide information on the background of Common Wood, guidelines and advice on permits, how to get involved in Friends of Common Wood and local information of note.
