This event is taking place on August 15 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Funges Meadow Nature Reserve, Bassetsbury Lane, High Wycombe HP11 1QX.
Meet in the Rye car park, off Bassetsbury Lane in High Wycombe for an afternoon dipping for creatures of the deep at Chiltern Rangers’ Funges Meadow Nature Reserve which is not usually open to the public. You’ll also be getting stuck in with some arts and crafts as you’ll be making a beautiful dragonfly to take home. Child – £7.00 Adult – £1.00
Woodland Gathering & Crafts for families (Morning & Afternoon Sessions)
This event is taking place on August 19 at Captain’s Wood, Chesham, Bucks HP5 2XJ.
Join us for a family friendly morning or afternoon at our ancient woodland site, Captain’s Wood, near Chesham where you will learn all about the woodland, understanding more about the trees and plants and how to identify them. As you go, you’ll gather intriguing feathers, flowers and leaves and afterwards you’ll make a hazel hoop which you’ll decorate using the natural materials you foraged. Happy Homes for Helpful Bees (Morning & Afternoon Sessions)
This event is taking place on August 20 at Whiteleaf & Brush Hill, Peters Lane, Princes Risborough HP27 0RP.
Join us for a morning or afternoon at Brush Hill Local Nature Reserve, near Princes Risborough, to learn all about the humble bumble and other beneficial insects. You’ll making your very own home for bees that you can take away with you and put in your garden. Bees need our help, it’s time for us to repay them for all the hard work they do pollinating our flowers, fruit and vegetables. You’ll also get to make a fuzzy bee pencil topper as well to take home. Family Woodland Walk (Morning & Afternoon Sessions)

Join expert Dave Willis for a morning or afternoon guided woodland walk around Marlow Common, enjoying a special connection with nature. You will learn all about the woods as well as the flora and fauna that inhabits it. Learn to be nature detectives; exploring and using your senses to identify the trees and plants, looking at the shapes of leaves, feeling the bark (tree hugging optional) and smelling them too! We will even enjoy a little sustainable foraging! Child – £1.00, Adult – £4.00
Night Creatures Safari
This event is taking place on August 31 from 7:45 pm – 9:45 pm at Whiteleaf & Brush Hill, Peters Lane, Princes Risborough HP27 0RP.
Join us at Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve for a fun evening looking & listening for ‘Creatures of the Night’ with local nature expert, Jools Hopton. Suitable for the whole family, we’ll be mask making and bug hunting in the meadow before setting off with bat detectors for a twilight walk around our neighbouring Brush Hill Local Nature Reserve where we’ll be searching for bats, deer, owls and other nocturnal creatures.
