We have heard that Aviva Investors, current owners of the Gomm Valley, are proposing to accept an offer from an anonymous PLC to buy the land. They will not use Human Nature, with whom they have been working for 4 years and who have submitted plans for a sustainable community living in an attractive valley with wonderful views and open land.

The Residents Society urges you to write to Aviva express your concern that Gomm Valley will be turned into another faceless housing estate – full details in the link below.

Representatives from the Ashwells Forum (the Residents Society and local residents) met with Charles Brocklebank, Interim Head of Special Projects for the Bucks Council, on April 8th to review the master plan for the planned development of the Ashwells site.

You can read the notes from their meeting and see the current plan here

Please note that this is not the final version of the master plan and is likely to change significantly.   There is no obligatory public consultation because this is not a final design, it is a plan to satisfy the pre-commencement conditions prior to starting on the infrastructure work, but it may well be of interest to some.

In conjunction with Penn Parish Council, Transport for Bucks have proposed some changes to parking in Penn to help residents and drivers park and manoeuvre safely.

They are looking for feedback to their proposals from local residents – you can see all the details by following the link below but a quick summary is :

Coppice Farm Road (Map K58) – No waiting or parking at any time from junction of Hazlemere Road to just past the Methodist Church with a proposal for the parking bay at junction of Hazlemere Road to be made time restricted – the Residents Society have requested that the bay is not time restricted.

Elm Road (Doctors Surgery) Map L60- change current white lines on corner to double yellow lines – no waiting or parking on the corner at all times to allow good visibility for pedestrians and road users.

Elm Road (Red Lion to Doctors Surgery) – Map L61 – no waiting or parking on side of common at all and no parking across driveways – enforceable with double yellow lines at all times.

Elm Road (Victoria Cottages) Map L61 – if the residents of Victoria Cottages support the proposal this bay could be restricted to residents only

School Road (Map L62) – There are no changes proposed at this junction (from the Bus Stops and Village Store to the First School)

Deadline for feedback is 14th January 2020.
